EYA — Enhance Your Ability

EYA (Enhance Your Ability) is an AAC app: children who speak little or not at all communicate by tapping picture cards. Parents, therapists and teachers prepare those cards. This plugin lets that adult do the preparation in a conversation, in their own EYA account.

What it does:

• Create cards in bulk ("one card per line"), put them into folders, rename, move and reorder them, and put cards in the Bin or bring them back.
• Find pictures for cards in EYA's own picture library. On request, find openly licensed real photos (Openverse) with their licence and credit, or show pictures ChatGPT found with its web search. The adult taps the picture they want in a picker. A picture from outside EYA goes on a card only when the adult picks it, shares it in the chat, gives its link, or asks the assistant to pick; every placed picture is shown in the chat, and changing a picture needs a separate step.
• EYA's child-safety filter hides outside pictures whose title, tags or address point to violence, war, nudity, drugs or similar topics, unless the card itself is about that (a card "Tank" still gets tanks).
• Show the board as the child will see it.
• Add calendar events, build communication desks, and add phrases to EYA Talk.

Who it is for: adults who support a child who uses AAC. It is not for children to use. Changes appear in the adult's EYA app at once.

What you need: an EYA account (enhance-your-ability.com). When connecting, the adult signs in to EYA and chooses which kinds of changes the assistant may make; they can disconnect at any time in EYA, Account, Assistants.

Limitations: pictures from outside EYA are checked by a text filter (title, tags and address), not by looking at the image, so the adult should look at each picture shown in the chat and change any that is not right. The plugin does not read or store medical records or diagnoses.
