Watchgoose is cron job and heartbeat monitoring for scheduled tasks: cron jobs, systemd timers, Kubernetes CronJobs, backups and recurring scripts. When a job runs late, fails or never runs, Watchgoose alerts you through email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, PagerDuty, webhooks and more.
Connect one Watchgoose project and ask about your monitoring in plain language: check status, schedules and status history, plus recent pings and alert integrations on read-and-write connections. Read-only access is the default. With explicit read-and-write consent you can also create, update, pause, resume and delete checks.
Five built-in workflows:
- Coverage audit: find scheduled jobs in a repository that have no monitoring.
- Job setup: draft check settings and a heartbeat wrapper for one job.
- Batch setup: create checks for many jobs after a single approval.
- Health review: spot paused checks, checks still waiting for their first ping and checks without alert routing.
- Missed-run triage: summarize what happened when a check goes down.
The workflows never run your jobs or send test pings, and nothing changes without your approval. Requires a Watchgoose account; you sign in when you connect.
